IOC pleased with Russia’s preparations for 2014 Winter Olympics

One of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) delegation has positively evaluated Russia’s preparations for the 2014 Winter Olympic Games in the resort city of Sochi.

Led by Jean-Claude Killy, this is the fourth visit of the IOC Coordination Commission to Sochi as part of routine inspections on how Russia prepares for the Olympics.

Asteros constructs operational IT-infrastructure for Sochi International Airport

Asteros has completed an already functional IT facility for Sochi International Airport’s new terminal. The colossal project included the realization of 37 basic as well as specialized aviation systems that guarantees continuity of business on the airport. The new airport terminal’s opening resulted to an almost twice as much increase in passenger traffic capacity and also improved the quality of service for both members of the airlines and the public.

Snow leopard leads competition for the best mascot for Winter Olympic Games in Sochi 2014

The organizers of the Olympic Games in Sochi on 2014 mentioned that the Snow Leopard is likely to become their mascot.

A nationwide competition is held to determine the mascot for the 2014 Olympics which will kick off on September 1 in Russia’s Black Sea resort of Sochi.

15% of Sochi Olympic Facilities – Completed!

Olympics Currently, 15% of all construction projects for the 2014 Olympics have been accomplished in the city of Sochi. This is according to the head of the state corporation Olympstroy which is responsible for building the facilities.

Teimuraz Bolloyev which is a total of 215 sports and infrastructure facilities are to be built for the Games, and 30 are under construction now.
