10-year Strategy of Russian Olympic Committee – Approved!

The 10-year plan aims to provide Russian athletes with the best possible facilities for training and is also expected to benefit Russian performance at Sochi 2014.

During the meeting’s discussion, a new structure for the ROC Executive Committee was also approved streamlining the body to 20 senior figures from the world of Russian sport.

The President of ROC, Alexandr Zhukov admitted that the Russian Olympic Committee will be the one of the most effective National Olympic Committees that will ensure Russia remains a global sporting powerhouse.

The main goal of the strategy is to consolidate all Russian Olympic stakeholders and create stable environment for the development of athletes capable of achieving the highest honor at the Olympic Games as part of the Russian team.

“Providing the best conditions for the preparation and success of Russian sportsmen is incredibly important. Russian Olympians inspire people across the whole country and generate a feeling of national pride,” added Mr Zhukov.

Over the next couple of years the ROC will strengthen its positions as a reliable partner for sports federations, become an advocate for the interests of sportsmen and coaches and promote Olympic education and the ideals of the Olympic Movement.
