Employees of the Organizing Committee are going to gain Olympic experience, as along with representatives of ministries and agencies involved in the preparation for the Games in Sochi.

Sochi Reveals a Quick Look at Future as Promoter Signs

A project which includes the Russian Grand Prix on the Winter Olympic park in Sochi took a step forward with the announcement of a promoter, as well as the release of artists' impressions of how sections of the circuit may appear.

Progress is also being made with the construction and preparation for the race, despite it not being expected to join the F1 schedule until after the Games in 2014. The details were made public at a press conference accompanying the weekend's Moscow City Racing event which drew visits from several F1 teams.

Women’s football Starts off London 2012 Olympic Games

The Olympic sports competition officially began last Wednesday, with the women’s football teams from Great Britain and New Zealand kicking off the London 2012 Olympic Games at Cardiff’s Millennium Stadium.

With the sun shining in the Welsh capital, the British women’s team – making their first-ever appearance in the Games – enjoyed a 1-0 win over their rivals, with Steph Houghton breaking the deadlock after 63 minutes, curling a 25-yard free-kick over the wall and past New Zealand goalkeeper Jenny Bindon.

Sochi 2014 Olympic Games Events to Start a Day Earlier

For the first time in Winter Games history, competition at the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia will begin a day before the opening ceremony.

The Sochi Games will feature 98 medal events, 12 more than the 2010 Vancouver Olympics.
