Meryl Davis, of the USA, who won the ice dance event with her partner Charlie White. mentioned that the Iceberg Skating Palace in Sochi is a beautiful arena and the atmosphere is simply fantastic. She also revealed that they've been to Moscow several times but this is their first visit to Sochi.

Sochi 2014 Successfully Completes the International Training Week with Flying Colors

On 14th November at the Sliding Center "Sanki" in Sochi, the first International Training Week in luge has been completed. The event has helped to mark the beginning of the 2012-2013 world season and preceded the World Cup event which will be held at the Sochi track in February 2013. During the event, which brought together more than 130 athletes fr om 26 different countries, the Sochi 2014 Organizing Committee team successfully tested the services at the Olympic sliding track.

To mark one year prior to the arrival of the Olympic Flame to Russia, the Sochi 2014 Organizing Committee has declared the route that the Olympic flame will travel in the hands of 14,000 torchbearers, over 123 days, and through 2,900 towns and settlements.
