The preparations for the Olympics in Sochi, has actually entered its final phase,"  Russian President Dmitry Medvedev mentioned Tuesday on the first working meeting on the legacy of the 2014 Olympics.

The President drew the attention of the participants in the meeting held at Roza Khutor resorts to the fact that slightly more than three years left until the opening of the Olympics. While we have to solve a range of issues, including the issue of snow. Not because any Olympics is a very big project, not because we do not have the easiest conditions here. The project is ambitious - in terms of building volume and fundraising, and organizational complexity, told Medvedev.

In regard to the pace of construction of Olympic facilities, the President emphasized that the pace is good, really clear on what will take place.  For the second year of winter here is essentially snow-free in January. Even though the Olympics are held in the second period, we must ensure that we do not have any problems met in Vancouver last year, he said.

According to the president, up to 85 percent of the funds earmarked for the Olympic project implementation is used for the creation of modern infrastructure - social, transport and energy. And also on the settlement of environmental issues and the development of tourism. The most important thing, as we have repeatedly said, is that we should look at the post-Olympic future. The Olympics, of course - it is very important, it is a great sporting event, it is joy, but what is not less, and perhaps more important for us to have a large number of new facilities, facilities for life and recreation left here in Sochi. And we must also ensure that high standards would be achieved at any price during the Olympics, of course, be preserved for the people living in Krasnodar Territory, for all who come here to spend their vacation, Medvedev said .
