Russia is already feeling the heat of the 2014 Winter Olympics, which is to be held at Sochi. Major infrastructures in Sochi such as the Sochi airport, are expected to undergo a facelift in preparation for Sochi 2014 with a mammoth US$12 billion being set aside for this purpose. This should, believes the Russian government, dramatically affect the flow of tourism to Russia.
